Alaska Trip 2012

A lifetime dream came true in June of 2012 when Abbie and I both took our first-ever trip to Alaska. We decided to bite-the-bullet and go to Gambel on St. Lawrence Island as well as Nome, on the Seward Peninsula. The trip was with Wilderness Birding Adventures, owned and operated by Alaskans Bob Dittrick and Lisa Moorehead, who do a fantastic job of providing great food and accommodations, and dealing with a nightmare of logistics. Our first lifer of the trip, the adorable little Boreal Owl, was arranged personally by Bob at a secret nest-site he knew about in someone's back yard.
